I started composing in 2011, writing up until 2017. By that point, I had gravitated towards free improvisation and lo-fi recording, releasing several albums in this style between 2018-2020. This shift was due to a number of factors: the prospect of having a tangible object as opposed to unperformed pieces collecting dust, the influence of artists like Kaoru Abe & Cecil Taylor, wanting to collaborate with other musicians, and so on. However, over time, I felt more and more drawn to returning to composition, alongside a new interest in production, as I began to feel dissatisfied with the constraints that improvisation carries by its nature. I felt as though the FRSP&ZGTC Split was the peak of what I was able to do with free improvisation, and took some time to work out what exactly I wanted to do compositionally, as well as systematize some of the techniques that I had experimented with in my improvisational work. In 2026, I released aperçus scintillants, the first album in this new direction.
This page serves as a reference for all of the releases in my old improvisation style, as well as the first early experiments in production (UNRAVELLING, Syzygie) that were released.
